Cevisama 2020 Looming

Updated: Apr 27, 2022

We love the holiday season as much as you do. But for tile aficionados, February is the month that truly leaves us giddy with anticipation. In two short weeks, we will be packing our bags and heading to Valencia, Spain for Cevisama Fair, the first buying trip of 2020.

Wading through the offerings from Europe's top suppliers to curate the perfect collection of launches for the first two quarters of the year is what we live for. Our intent this year is to develop our collection to add depth and broader capabilities for your projects in the coming years.

We have our ideas of what directions our collections are heading in, but what really interests us is...

What looks, colours and formats are YOU excited about seeing from Centanni Tile in 2020?

Let's start with some of our thoughts and make sure to sign up for our Insiders Program to receive the e-blast which will include our 2020 Influencer's Survey so that you can tell us what YOU can't live without in your specs for this year!

Despite having Collections that offer complimentary gauged porcelain panels and slabs in our assortment, we have not brought any into our stocking program. Even on special order, we've had a surprising amount of projects this year using this progressive material. We'd like to add an assortment of timeless slabs to our in-stock collection this year.

Focus: Texture, Unique Materials, Coordinating modules in standard formats.

While we currently have a great assortment of eye-catching material, small formats and more decorative material for those areas in your space where you want to draw the eye like feature walls and backsplashes is thinner than we would like. We're actively looking for unique products that fit the Centanni Style of refined and unique but highly diverse in applicability.

Focus: Concise Ideas with broad applicability, Diversity in finish to add gloss/matte in creative ways, Variation in tone or texture

We all know that LVT has gobbled some market-share from ceramics - especially in the wood look category. In performance, indoor air quality, overall hygiene and durability ceramics remain the clear winner for savvy specifiers and because of this, we have been getting steady requests for wood-looks again.

Focus: Clean and timeless timber, texture & mixed finishes with progressive digital effects not possible in LVT, Clean tones but not hyper-minimal Scandinavian

P L A S T E R

With the advent of digitally applied effects, there has been a rise in material looks that employ multiple finishes like Venetian plaster. We love the dynamic look of mixed matte and gloss in one piece in an elegant and organic look like plaster.

Focus: Timeless tones, elegant rather than rustic made-by-hand, mixed finish

Immortalized by Eero Saarinen in his iconic John Deere HQ building in Illinois and extensively ever since, weathered corten steel is a mutable and fascinating material. We've stayed away from this look thus far despite its widespread usage in tile. We believe that technology has finally reached a point that the spontaneity and organic nature can be captured in ceramics. Pairing beautifully with white, black and vibrant colours, corten is a timeless material we feel we need to offer.

Focus: Clean tones, real oxidization touch and look, hyper-realism.

We can't wait to dig in to this year's first look at novelties and select the perfect thing for your next project! See you soon Valencia!
